Reinhart Vohs, 95, of 09011 Southland Road, New Knoxville, died 7:35 P.M. Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in Saint Marys.

He was born August 25, 1913, in Auglaize County, Ohio, the son of Henry and Mary (Schroer) Vohs.

He married Elfrieda Schnelle on June 24, 1939; she preceded him in death on June 3, 1944, while giving birth to their son, who also died. He married Agnes (Wierwille) Huston on June 23, 1946; she preceded him in death on March 28, 1983.

He is survived by a step-son, Terry (Becky) Huston of New Knoxville; two grandsons: Chad (Cherie) Huston of New Knoxville; Jeff (Maggie) Huston of Florence, Kentucky; by two great-grandchildren: Ashley and Lucas Huston.

He was preceded in death by his parents, both wives, an infant son, one brother: Leonard Vohs and one sister, Olga Schnelle.

Reinhart attended the Brookside School in rural New Knoxville. He had worked at the Hoge Lumber Company and was a retired farmer. He spent many years raising chickens and selling eggs.

He was an active member of the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville, where he had served as both an elder and deacon. He previously served on the New Knoxville School Board and the Pilger Ruhe Cemetery Board.

Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 21, 2009, at the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville, the Very Reverend Dr. David Williams, celebrant. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery.

Friends may call from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services on Saturday in the Heritage Room of the church, where memorial donations may be directed to the Radio Broadcast Fund of the church.
