Steven G. Neely, 66, of 506 Maplewood Lane, Celina, Ohio, died 8:02 A.M. Thursday, March 3, 2011, at Bay Medical Center in Panama City, Florida.

He was born November 29, 1944, in Lima, Ohio, the son of Richard and Miriam “Pat” (Pierson) Neely.

He married Maureen Thompson on December 20, 1975 and she survives at the residence. He is also survived by his four children: Michael (Cortney) Neely of Eastaboga, Alabama; Mark (Becky) Neely of Manhattan, NY; Eric (Laura) Neely of Leesville, Louisiana; Brad Neely of Columbus, Ohio; by his mother, Pat Neely of Saint Marys; by five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and by one grandson.

Steven was a 1962 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School and a 1966 graduate of Wittenburg University. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Steven retired after 37 years of service from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. During his career he held various positions within the Human Resource Division in several locations including Saint Marys, Ohio; North Chicago, Illinois; Gadsden, Alabama; Scottsboro, Alabama; Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; Topeka, Kansas and Marysville, Ohio.

Private family funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M Thursday, March 10, 2011, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, the Reverend Steve Weatherly, officiant. Burial will follow Elm Grove Cemetery.
