Mary (Freytag) Montague, 82, of 301 Orchard Drive in St.Marys, OH, died 6:50 a.m. Tuesday December 25, 2007 at the Otterbein Retirement Community, near Grand Lake St.Marys. 

She was born November 21, 1925 at Ft.Loramie, OH to Edward & Ethel (Speckman) Freytag. 

On December 2, 1950, at Ft.Loramie, OH, she married Eldon E. Montague, who survives. 

She is also survived by:

¨ Son-in-law, Mike (Victoria) Hoenie of St.Marys, OH

¨ 4 grandchildren: Melinda Hoenie of St.Marys, OH; Edward Hoenie of Dayton, OH; Tom (Stacey) Hoenie of Dayton, OH; Christina (Patrick) Knittle of Ft.Wayne, IN

¨ 1 great-grandson Lisle Knittle of Ft.Wayne, IN

¨ 3 brothers: Paul (Irene) Freytag of Minster, OH; James Freytag of Sidney, OH; Edward (Betty) Freytag of Sidney 

She was preceded in death by parents,; son, John Montague; sister-in-law, Virginia Freytag. 

Mary was a graduate of the Ft.Loramie High School and the Good Samaritan School of Nursing in Dayton, OH. 

She had been employed as an airline hostess for TWA, as a nurse at the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., and as a registered nurse in the early years of the JTDM Hospital, in St.Marys.  She was a member of the St.Patrick’s Catholic Church at Glynwood, OH, and the Mothers’ Study Club in St.Marys. 

She was an avid player of bridge, and enjoyed traveling throughout the world with her husband.

Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29,2007 at the St.Patrick's Catholic Church in Glynwood, with the Rev. Oscar Seger, celebrant.  Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery, St.Marys, OH.  There will be no public visitation.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the Auglaize County Humane Society.
