M. Parker McGlothen, 74, of 706 South Main Street, Saint Marys, Ohio, died 12:48 P.M. Sunday, April 1, 2012, at his residence.
He was born August 2, 1937, in Martin, Kentucky, the son of Morton and Edythe (Hagans) McGlothen.
He married Vivian
Bevans on October 6, 1956 and she preceded him in death on August 11, 1981.
He married Ruth Snyder on April 11, 2003, and she survives at the residence.
He is also survived
by his three daughters: Debra Ann (Brice) Gyurisko of Orlando, Florida; Sandra
Kay (Rowdey) Borges of Wapakoneta; Rebecca Sue McGlothen of Wapakoneta; by
three step-children: Brad Snyder of Toledo; Scott Snyder of Saint Marys; T. J.
(Ammy) Snyder of Saint Marys; by his siblings: Dale (Elsie)McGlothen of Saint
Marys; Jim (Val) McGlothen of Portage, Indiana; Jerry (Roberta) McGlothen of
Saint Marys; by a brother-in-law, Ken Lutz of Saint Marys; by seven
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in
death by his parents; first wife; a sister, Gale Lutz; a step-daughter, Nan
Snyder Dickrede.
Parker was a 1954 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 41.5 years of service.
He was a life member of Eagles Lodge 767 in Saint Marys. He loved music, especially the blues and was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the Saint Marys Roughriders and the Kentucky Wildcats.
Funeral rites will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday, April 5, 2012, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, Ohio. Parker’s son-in-law, Brice Gyurisko, will officiate the funeral rites. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to Grand Lake Hospice.
