Frances L. Matthieu, 84, of 00616 Willie’s Way, St.Marys, OH, and formerly of Versailles, OH, died 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Joint Township Hospital, St.Marys, OH. 

She was born December 21, 1923, in Sidney, OH, the daughter of Howard and Annabelle (Gates) Hamilton. 

She married Edson Matthieu, Sr. on April 2, 1941; he preceded her in death on March 11, 1996. 

She is survived by:

¨ Son, Edson (Sondra) Matthieu, Jr, West Milton, OH

¨ Son, Jim (Betty) Matthieu, Lima, OH

¨ Son, John Matthieu, St.Marys, OH

¨ 10 grandchildren

¨ 7 great-grandchildren

¨ Sister, Kate Deal, Sidney, OH 

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. 

Frances was a homemaker and she enjoyed reading, crocheting, working crossword puzzles and spending time with friends and family.

Funeral rites will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2008 at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St.Marys, OH.   Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from noon until the time of the services on Friday at the funeral home where memorial donations may be directed to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
