Robert E. “Bob” Hirschfeld, 74, 12600 Plattner Road, St.Marys, OH, died August 19, 2007 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St.Marys, OH from complications of cancer.

He was born April 21, 1933 in St.Marys, the son of Herbert and Selma (Knierim) Hirschfeld.  He married Mary Anne Hoge on November 26, 1955 and she preceded him in death on

December 14, 2005.

He is survived by:

· Daughter, Teresa Hirschfeld, St.Marys, OH

· Son, Steven Hirschfeld, Naperville, IL

· Daughter, Carol (Stephen) Collier, Chicago, IL

· Son, John (Linda) Hirschfeld, Ft. Shawnee, OH

· 6 grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one brother, Howard Hirschfeld.

Bob was a 1951 graduate of St.Marys Memorial High School and upon graduation founded Quality Ready Mix with his brother, Howard.  In 1981, he established Con-Ag, a St.Marys quarry operation.  He remained president and actively involved with business operations until his death.

Bob was a longtime St.Marys Roughrider Football supporter.  He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in St.Marys, having served as an elder and most recently, as chairman of the Land Committee.  Over the years Bob enjoyed tending to his small orchard.  He was passionate about his work and the church and was viewed by many as progressive in his thoughts and ideas.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 23,2007 at Zion Lutheran Church,  210 N. Wayne St., St.Marys, OH, the Rev. Bill Maki officiating.  Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in St.Marys.

Friends may call from 2-4and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Miller- Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 W. High St., St.Marys, OH, where memorial donations may be directed to either Zion Lutheran Church or Joint Township Hospital.
