Robert E. Goodwin, 91. Of 6141 County Road 33A, St.Marys, OH died Monday, August 8, 2011 at his residence. 

He was born July 24, 1920, the son of William and Zelia (Dixon) Goodwin. 

On May 23, 1940, he married Grace W. Sollman  at the United Church of Christ in New Bremen; she died February, 1987. 

He is survived by:

Son, Gary (Bonnie) Goodwin of Wapakoneta, OH 

7 grandchildren 

Numerous great-grandchildren 

He was preceded in death by his parents; son,  Robert E. Goodwin; sister, Bessie Cramer;  brother, Frank Goodwin; sister, Mary Stoker; sister, Georgiana Carey; sister, Maxine Laffin;  brother, William (Bud) Goodwin. 

He retired from the Superior Tube Company of Wapakoneta, and had been employed by the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. 

He loved to travel.  He was a member of St.Pauls United Church of Christ in New Bremen, OH. 

Funeral Services for Mr. Goodwin will be held 12:00 noon at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, St.Marys,  on Saturday, Rev. Bill Drummond, officiating.  Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Moulton, OH. 

Visitation for family and friends will be held from  10:00 a.m.  until noon at the funeral home.
