Leo N. Dietz, 86, formerly of 03739 Glynwood Road in St. Marys, OH died 1:02 a.m. Monday October 25, 2010 at Golden Living Center - Valley in St. Marys.

He was born April 18, 1924 in Auglaize Co., OH to Louis and Elizabeth (Yahl) Dietz.

On July 16, 1949 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Maria Stein, OH, he married Mary A. Bruggeman, who died October 28, 2008.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, sister Blanche (Roman) Poeppelman, sister Margaret (Vic) Overman, brother-in-law Bill Case.

He was retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in St. Marys, where he was a press operator.  A veteran of the US Army, he served in the European Theatre during World War II.

He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, VFW Post # 9289, American Legion Post # 323 and Eagles Lodge Aerie # 767, all in St. Marys.  His favorite pastimes included ballroom dancing with his wife, fishing and turtle trapping.

Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled 10:30 a.m. Thursday October 28, 2010 at Holy Rosary catholic Church 511 E. Spring Street in St. Marys. Burial, with graveside rites, will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, in St. Marys.

Visitation for family and friends will be held 4 - 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9:15 - 10:15 a.m. Thursday at Miller - Long & Folk Funeral Home 314 W. High Street in St. Marys.
