Richard “Dick” Chittum, 66, 906 Hawthorne Drive, St.Marys, OH died 7:10 a.m. Friday March 23, 2007 at the St.Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, OH.
He was born April 4, 1940 in Dayton, OH to James & Ruth (Frey) Chittum.
On August 27, 1966 he married Barbara L. McVey, who survives.
He is also survived by:
· Son, Roger (Stephanie) Chittum of Hebron, OH
· Granddaughter, Katherine Chittum of Hebron, OH
· Sister, Patricia (Mac) McDivitt of Beavercreek, OH
· Sister, Nancy (Charles) Allen of Vandalia, OH
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Dick was a 1958 graduate of Belmont High School in Dayton, OH and received his Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University.
He worked for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for 30 years, retiring as manager of the St.Marys Fish Hatchery. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St.Marys.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping and boating. He was also an ardent supporter of The Ohio State University Buckeyes. He was a devoted husband who loved his family.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled 11:00 a.m. Tuesday March 27, 2007 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church 511 E. Spring Street in St.Marys, with the Rev. Anthony E. Cutcher, celebrant. Burial will follow at the Gethsemane Cemetery in St.Marys.
Visitation will be held 6 - 9 p.m. Monday and 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Miller Funeral Home (State Route 703 West Chapel) in St.Marys.
