Nicholas Bayer, 54, of 20511 Shadyside Way, Germantown, Maryland, died Monday, August 13, 2007 at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, D.C.

He was born December 14, 1953, in Saint Marys, the son of Marvin and Dorothy (Peters) Bayer. They survive in Saint Marys.

He is survived by two brothers: Michael (Barbara) Bayer of Washington D.C.; Thomas (Briana) Bayer of Leesburg, Virginia; by one sister, Nancy (Bob) Jacobs of Warrenton, Virginia and their families and many devoted and loving cousins.

Nick graduate from Saint Marys Memorial High School in 1971 and earned an undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and a Masters degree from the University of Maryland.

Nick worked as an accountant in the financial department at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in Germantown, Maryland. Through his dedication and hard work his branch often received the highest evaluations.

Nick will be remembered for his wry sense of humor, his unfailing courtesy to others and his total devotion to and affection for his immediate and extended family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, August 18, 2007, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Saint Marys, the Reverend Anthony Cutcher, celebrant. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the St Marys Public Library or to the Holy Rosary School Fund.
